Parks and Gardens of London

Apart from the glorious historic sites, the scenic views of River Thames and the blissfully pleasant weather that remains throughout the summers and the street marks, London has much more to offer to its people. Supporting one of the oldest railways networks in the entire world, London has many more secrets that tourists can explore. One of the most popular things to do in London, especially during winters is to visit the numerous gardens and parks in London.

The City Corporation of London supports numerous parks and open spaces that have been created and are being managed to provide historic landscaping and preserving homes for the wildlife.

Another famous park is the famous thirty acre Queen’s Park that was established way back in 1886, to pay homage to the Queen. You can also make your way to the West Ham Park that is a whopping seventy seven acres of open, green space. This park is located in the London Borough of Newham and is the best place to just sit and have a bite to eat with your friends.

The parks, gardens and open spaces of London are so popular due to the weather of London. London experiences warm sunshine with cool winds throughout the season of summer which makes it the ideal time for residents. Apart from these large countryside gardens, London also has more than two hundred city gardens that are located to provide London’s residents with a healthy environment. A famous city garden includes the St. Pancras Church Garden, Tower Hill Garden, Girdlers Garden and Christchurch GreyFrairs; all of which are owned by the City of London.
